Karoy Anderson has been selected for Jamaica duty, earning his third international call-up since making a permanent move to Blackpool from Charlton Athletic in July. The 21-year-old midfielder will join the Reggae Boyz for their upcoming Concacaf Nations League fixtures this month and next.

Anderson, who has 19 caps for Jamaica, was on loan at Bloomfield Road for the second half of last season before the move was made permanent. His form has been rewarded with another national team selection, with Jamaica set to face Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador in a busy international window.

"I’m looking forward to it a lot," Anderson said. "It’s always something you look forward to, it’s another great opportunity that I’m grateful for."

He added that the honour of representing his country has not diminished. "It’s not something you get used to, it’s still a very big achievement."

Anderson's call-up is the third for a Blackpool player ahead of the League One break, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Dion Charles also named in the Northern Ireland squad. Blackpool manager Ian Evatt has shown faith in the young midfielder, even entrusting him with the captain's armband in the absence of others this season.

His development since leaving Charlton's academy has been rapid, and this latest recognition boosts his international profile. Jamaica's schedule includes a home match against Guatemala in Kingston on September 26, a home fixture with Honduras on September 29, an away trip to El Salvador on October 3, and a return match in Honduras on October 6.

Charlton, Anderson's former club, are currently seventh in the Championship with 12 points from seven games. Their recent form shows one win, three draws and one loss from the last five outings. For the latest on the squad's availability, including current absentees, check the injuries list.
