Charlton Athletic face Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday night looking to improve on a run of three draws in their last five Championship games. Nathan Jones’s side, currently 12th in the standings with 13 points from nine matches, welcome back several players from injury for the trip north.

Billy Koumetio and Kayne Ramsay have returned to action following the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City at The Valley. Goalkeeper Will Mannion is also back in contention after being named on the bench for that game following a shoulder issue. The squad’s availability is boosted, though Nathaniel Chalobah (thigh) and Matty Godden (hamstring) remain on the injuries list, while Collins Sichenje continues his long-term recovery from a knee injury.

Lloyd Jones’s defensive foundation

Lloyd Jones continues to be the bedrock of Charlton’s defence, having started all nine league games this season. The 31-year-old, who joined from Cambridge United in 2023, has already scored three times in all competitions. His experience, including helping the club secure promotion in 2025 and retain their Championship status last season, will be vital against a Burnley side seeking a first home league win.

Campbell leads the attack

Tyreece Campbell provides the main attacking threat, with the 23-year-old winger scoring five goals in ten games across all competitions this term. Four of those have come in the league, making him the team’s top scorer with four goals in nine Championship appearances. His assist for Karamoko Dembélé’s goal against Bristol City highlighted his creative influence. Conor Coventry, an Ireland international, adds further impetus, having contributed a goal and an assist in the Carabao Cup. The team will need his threat as they look to improve on an average of just 1.2 goal minutes per game, a key figure from our stats page.

Burnley’s own challenges

Burnley, managed by Nicky Hayen, ended a 241-day wait for a win with a 4-0 victory at Watford on Saturday. Despite that result, they sit 22nd in the table and have several injury concerns. Former Addick Josh Cullen is likely to miss out, while Jaydon Banel may not be ready in time. Bashir Humphreys, Jordan Beyer, Hannibal Mejbri, and Aaron Ramsey are all sidelined. Hayen said his "side will be looking to build on Saturday's 4-0 win at Watford and secure a first home league victory of the 2026/27 campaign."

The trip to Turf Moor, the next match in our fixtures, is the first of two away games this week for Jones’s team.
