Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has explained why Kenyan international Timothy Ouma hasn't played for the club this season. Ouma missed Charlton's 2-1 Championship victory over West Ham at London Stadium as he continues building his fitness. Jones pointed to visa complications that delayed Ouma's return from Kenya as a key factor behind his lack of match time. The Kenyan international joined from Slavia Prague in an initial loan deal with the option of making it permanent next season. Charlton Athletic currently sit 19th in the Championship, 53 points behind leaders Coventry, with 44 goals scored and 58 conceded this season. They have a recent form of 2W-0D-3L (LLWWL) and have lost their last two games. Charlton's next fixture comes on Wednesday evening, when Jones' side travel to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur in the second round of the Carabao Cup. The intensity of a Championship fixture and an U21s fixture are vastly different, he has hardly trained, he had visa issues early on. That wait prolonged us from being able to bring him back over from Kenya, so he has missed a lot of pre-season, and we are building him up, it is a work in progress.'
